Description

A small noble residence with a surrounding park in a hilly area built by the Prónay family. The original elements of the ensemble are the U-shaped, Baroque-Neo-Baroque castle, the so-called Small Castle, the manorial buildings, and the gatehouse. In the Socialist period, the buildings had various communal functions. After 1990 it became private property again. The present owner, Dr. József Molnár started the renovations in 2009, and he received the Podmaniczky heritage award for the result. The old buildings were renovated, and two new wings were added for the new functions. The interior of the main castle building was equipped with antique furniture but the spaces are in use.

The re-vitalization of the complex is exemplary: they found new functions that fit to the site and the new constructions do not disturb the aesthetics and heritage value of the complex. The buildings, the park, and the village and landscape around make it a great site to visit, perfect for a weekend vacation. The owner also runs peasant houses turned into guesthouses in the village.

The castle has a complex function: hotel, event center, and eye clinic. They host weddings, music festivals, and other cultural events. The castle buildings include luxury hotel rooms, while the new wing can host a larger number of guests. There is a wine cellar complex under the castle. A new building was elevated for an event hall and the eye clinic.
